- THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(A) THE RELIEF OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 25 WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF A DISABILITY THROUGH: (I) PROMOTING AND INCREASING THEIR PARTICIPATION IN AMATEUR SPORT, RECREATION AND SPORTING EVENTS ALONGSIDE ABLE BODIED PARTICIPANTS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE ORGANISATION OF AMATEUR SPORTING EVENTS (WHETHER SOLELY OR IN COLLABORATION WITH EXISTING EVENT ORGANISERS), THE PROVISION OF GRANTS FOR SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT, AND/OR SUCH OTHER METHODS AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE;(II) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL ON DISABILITIES AND THE EFFECT THAT A DISABILITY CAN HAVE ON A PERSONÆS ABILITY TO CARRY OUT DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES BY RAISING AWARENESS OF DISABILITIES IN THE UK.(B)THE RELIEF OF PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF A DISABILITY BY THE PROVISION OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPATION IN AMATEUR SPORT, RECREATION AND SPORTING EVENTS.
