THE PROMOTION OF THE EFFECTIVE USE OF CHARITABLE RESOURCES OF PERFORMING ARTS ARCHIVES WHOSE COLLECTIONS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND ARE OPERATED ON A NOT-FOR-PROFIT BASIS WITH THE AIM OF ADVANCING THE ARTS AND ITS HERITAGE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY:1 ADVOCATING THE WIDEST POSSIBLE ENGAGEMENT IN PERFORMING ARTS HERITAGE COLLECTIONS BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC;2 PROMOTING THE HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE OF COLLECTIONS TO REGIONAL AND NATIONAL COMMUNITIES AND INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE NEED TO PRESERVE SUCH COLLECTIONS FOR THE FUTURE;3 PROVIDING A FORUM FOR THE EXCHANGE AND DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION, EXPERTISE AND BEST PRACTICE IN PERFORMING ARTS COLLECTIONS AND HERITAGE ORGANISATIONS; AND4 ASSISTING WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS IN DOCUMENTING AND PROMOTING THE PERFORMING ARTS, TO ENABLE BETTER SAFEGUARDS AND THUS GREATER ACCESS TO ALL POTENTIAL USERS.
