The Bexhill & Rother Homelessness Unity Group ,HUG, was conceived in order to forge unity and action around concerns of growing homelessness locally. The foundation is Christian and the charity's original aim is to express God's desire for love, justice and compassion for the world, locally.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND ARE BASED ON THE CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES OF LOVING, CARING AND STANDING WITH THOSE MOST IN NEED:TO RELIEVE THE CHARITABLE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE HOMELESS, AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS OR RECOVERING FROM HOMELESSNESS AND WHO EITHER HAVE A LOCAL CONNECTION TO ROTHER DISTRICT OR WHO ARE CURRENTLY PRESENT IN BEXHILL TOWN WARDS, EAST SUSSEX, BY WORKING WITH SUCH PEOPLE AND OTHERS TO PROVIDE OR SUPPORT THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT SERVICES, INCLUDING WHERE APPROPRIATE, FOR THEIR PET ANIMALS. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT ‘HOMELESSNESS’ IS UNDERSTOOD TO MEAN A LACK OF SAFE, SECURE, AFFORDABLE AND PERMANENT ACCOMMODATION.
