What the charity does
BASICS Cornwall provides volunteer Pre-hospital Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics (CCPs) to deliver advanced pre-hospital care at incidents across Cornwall. Our clinicians attend incidents in conjunction with South Western Ambulance Service and deliver advanced medical procedures to critically ill or injured patients. BASICS Cornwall raises funds to equip our doctors and CCPs

- THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS (THE OBJECTS) ARE(1) TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE FOR SICK AND INJURED PEOPLE IN THE COUNTY OF CORNWALL, ISLES OF SCILLY AND NEIGHBOURING ENVIRONS(2) TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND ADVICE TO THE PERSONNEL OF SOUTH WESTERN AMBULANCE SERVICE NHS TRUST WHEN REQUESTED(3) TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND ADVICE TO ANY OTHER STATUTORY EMERGENCY SERVICE UPON FORMAL REQUEST(4) TO PROVIDE TRAINED MEDICAL INCIDENT COMMANDERS AND DOCTORS FOR TRIAGE AND TREATMENT OF CASUALTIES AT THE SCENE OF A MAJOR INCIDENT PRIMARILY WITHIN, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE COUNTY OF CORNWALL, ISLES OF SCILLY AND NEIGHBOURING ENVIRONS(5) TO PARTICIPATE IN COOPERATIVE TRAINING WITH AND BETWEEN ALL THE STATUTORY EMERGENCY SERVICES IN THE COUNTY OF CORNWALL AND THE ISLES OF SCILLY FOR THE PROMOTION OF EXCELLENCE IN EMERGENCY HEALTHCARE PROVISION TO THE PEOPLE OF CORNWALL(6) TO SUPPORT THE TRAINING AND EQUIPPING OF ITS MEMBERS IN THE PURSUIT OF THESE OBJECTS. THIS MAY, ON OCCASION TO BE DETERMINED BY THE TRUSTEES IN A MAJORITY VOTE, BE EXTENDED TO MEMBERS OF THE WIDER GROUP, BASICS SOUTHWEST, WHO MIGHT REASONABLY BE EXPECTED TO BE CALLED IN URGENT CIRCUMSTANCES TO ASSIST THE MEMBERS OF THIS CHARITY IN PURSUIT OF THE OBJECTS.
