What the charity does
Curious Arts is a Newcastle Gateshead based charity championing and developing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual plus, arts, artists and audiences across the North East of England and beyond. Producers of award-winning Curious Festival, Curious Arts co-ordinate Queer Arts North and develop community-focused arts projects, artist commissions, youth groups and events.

- THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS (‘OBJECTS’) ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGH THE STAGING OF AN ANNUAL LGBTQIA ARTS AND CULTURE FESTIVAL AND THE PROVISION OF A PROGRAMME OF YEAR ROUND LOCAL AND NATIONAL ARTS ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO: A) ELIMINATE DISCRIMINATION AND INEQUALITY ON THE GROUNDS OF GENDER IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION; B) ADVANCE EDUCATION AND RAISE AWARENESS OF ISSUES RELATING TO SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY AND DISCRIMINATION AND THE NEEDS OF LGBTQIA PEOPLE AND THE ISSUES AFFECTING THEIR COMMUNITIES; AND C) CULTIVATE A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN RELATION TO PERSONS WHO IDENTIFY AS LGBTQIA.
