- THE OBJECT OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN BOURNEMOUTH, POOLE AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS, IS: TO PROMOTE THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND THE SAVING OF LIVES BY RAISING AWARENESS OF KNIFE CRIME AND OTHER VIOLENT CRIME, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:(1) RAISING AWARENESS OF SUCH CRIME AND THE NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THOSE AFFECTED BY IT AMONG CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND OTHERS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY;(2) SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE POSITIVE CHOICES IN RELATION TO THE DANGERS AND NEGATIVE IMPACT OF SUCH CRIME, THROUGH SCHOOL-BASED INTERVENTIONS, WORKSHOPS AND ONLINE RESOURCES, AND BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE TO THOSE SEEKING GUIDANCE; (3) ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE AGED UP TO 30 BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS;(4) THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT FOR THE VICTIMS OF SUCH CRIME, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.
