What the charity does
Biddenden Community Library provides free loan of a wide range of books to individuals living in the local area. It offers a warm welcome and refreshments to all . Children's activities encourage a love of books and the Knit and Natter group produces various handicrafts.The library is run by volunteers and is located in the Parish Church. It is open for 2 hours, three times a week, all year.

- (1) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE PARISH OF BIDDENDEN, KENT AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A FREE LENDING LIBRARY TO INCLUDE LOANING BOOKS AND OTHER ITEMS AND OFFERING OTHER ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS COMMENSURATE WITH A PUBLIC LIBRARY.(2) TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS OF BIDDENDEN AND THE SURROUNDING AREA THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED FOR SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES OR FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE, IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS.
