THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN BRIGHTON AND HOVE, ARE: 1) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN, AND APPRECIATION OF, THE VISUAL ARTS BY:(A) PROVIDING AFFORDABLE, COST-EFFECTIVE STUDIO SPACE, FACILITIES, RESOURCES AND MENTORING SUPPORT TO DEVELOPING, EMERGING, AND UNDERREPRESENTED ARTISTS DESIGNED TO ASSIST THEM IN DEVELOPING THEIR ARTISTIC SKILLS, CAPABILITIES AND PRACTICES. (B) PROVIDING INFORMAL LEARNING PROGRAMS, WORKSHOPS, CLASSES, AND EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECTS.(C) INCREASING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING, APPRECIATION AND PARTICIPATION IN THE VISUAL ARTS THROUGH EXHIBITIONS, OPEN STUDIO LEARNING DAYS, COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECTS, WORKSHOPS, DEMONSTRATIONS, EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT ENGAGE THE PUBLIC WITH ARTISTIC PRACTICE. 2) THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY BY:(A) THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS SEXUAL ORIENTATION; (B) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS IN EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY;(C) PROMOTING ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PEOPLE FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS;(D) CULTIVATING A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY.
