Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are to advance community development for the benefit of the inhabitants of Cullybackey and its environs (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion and by all or any of the following means:- (1) Advance community development for the benefit of the public by all or any of the following means: (a) promote sustainable means of creating employment and training opportunities in the area of benefit by providing premises and facilities to encourage the development of new, and the expansion of existing, businesses; (b) promote village renewal by involving the community in the drafting of Village Plans concerned with improving the economic, social, cultural, health, well-being and environmental life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit; (c) manage land and buildings for the benefit of the community and facilitate the availability and safeguarding of community assets for the community and voluntary sector; (d) provide facilities for and organise community and family events in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; (e) advance active citizenship and volunteering in the community. (2) Protect and enhance the natural and built environment for the benefit of the inhabitants of, and visitors to, the area of benefit. (3) Relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health or other disadvantage. (4) Advance education and training for the public benefit by organising classes, courses and programmes. (5) Promote social inclusivity, good community relations, social cohesion, racial and religious harmony and equality and diversity.
