Charitable purposes
The Company’s objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of amateur sport and the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in the City of Derry/Londonderry and its surrounding environs (“hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants in the area of benefit (hereinafter called the “beneficiaries”) without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnic origin, political, religious or other opinion by associating the statutory and local authorities, voluntary organisations and the beneficiaries in a common effort to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, in order to improve the conditions of life for the said beneficiaries and in particular: (a) to promote community participation in healthy recreation by the provision, maintenance and management of facilities called the “Clinton Arena” for the use of the beneficiaries for activities promoted or facilitated by the Company including use for the playing of football and other sports capable of improving health for the benefit of the public, meetings, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said beneficiaries and to develop their physical fitness, mental and emotional capacities as individuals and citizens; (b) to encourage youth participation in amateur sport and community participation through the provision of a safe environment for children to learn and participate in football and other sports capable of improving health so as to develop their physical, mental, emotional and social capabilities; (c) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity in Northern Ireland.
