Charitable purposes
The Association is established to support by means of financial assistance and voluntary work the prevention and relief of poverty, suffering and distress, the promotion of sustainable development and the promotion, preservation and protection of public health in Kenya, Ethiopia and such other countries that may from time to time be identified by the Committee (hereinafter referred to as “the area of benefit”) and in particular: (a) to relieve poverty and hunger in the area of benefit by any charitable means and in particular through the provision of food, clothing and care and grants; (b) to prevent or relieve poverty or financial hardship by providing or assisting in the provision of equipment, facilities and training in sustainable trades through teaching skills in cooking, food preparation, tailoring and typing in preparation for entry to any occupation, trade or profession; (c) to relieve sickness and the effects of HIV/Aids among the beneficiaries the provision or assistance in the provision of advice, information and financial assistance with the costs of medical treatment and the provision of items and services required to ease their suffering; (d) to advance the education of children and young people through their educational and leisure activities so as to develop their physical, mental, spiritual and emotional capacities in such ways as the Committee may from time to time think fit.
