3.1. The Choir is established to advance education in the city of Derry and surrounding areas (Area of Benefit) and ancillary thereto to support charitable projects which are engaged in the relief of poverty, sickness, the aged and the young in any part of the world and in particular to: 3.1.1. promote and develop the art of choral singing for the benefit of the public in the area of benefit and foster among Choir members a knowledge of music, especially Irish (traditional), Anglo Irish, other ethnic styles and Church Music; 3.1.2 encourage appreciation for and participation in singing and its associated arts and skills by people [from all sections of society] in the area of benefit; 3.1.3 encourage and stimulate the artistic creativity of people in the area of benefit by the provision of choral performances, training, support and facilities for artistic expression; 3.1.4 provide and manage facilities and resources for the training of young people and others in choral singing; 3.1.5 present, promote, organise, manage and produce choral programmes of cultural and educational value including entertainments and exhibitions;
