Charitable purposes

2.1.1 The Project is established to provide a dedicated Search, Rescue and Recovery service with professional standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of members of the public who are users of the River Lagan and its immediate environs (hereinafter described as ‘the area of benefit’) and additional support for national Search Rescue and Recovery, when requested and deemed reasonable to do so: without distinction of race, religious belief, political opinion, sex, sexual orientation, age or because of disability, by associating the statutory authorities , voluntary/community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: 2.1.2 –Promote the preservation of life. 2.2.3 - Be proactive in intervention of those at risk. 2.2.4 - Assist in the prevention of loss of life. 2.2.5 - Advance training and education in Search and Rescue skills which will support and develop: • the provision of Search, Rescue and Recovery Services to professional standards; • promotion of the preservation of life; • the intervention of those at risk; assistance in the prevention of loss of life, ensuring the safety and well-being of members of the public who are users of coastal environs, waterways and wetlands in the United Kingdom.
