Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The Company’s objects are specifically restricted to the promotion of heritage and culture, the promotion of rural regeneration and the conservation, maintenance, improvement and protection of the physical, built and natural environment and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”) of the village of Caledon and its surrounding environs within Co. Tyrone, Co. Armagh and Co. Monaghan (hereinafter described as "the area of benefit") and in particular: (a) to protect, restore, preserve, promote, improve and enhance for the public benefit buildings, features and other property and artefacts of historical, national or architectural interest or beauty in the area of benefit or land that is worthy of conservation by reason of its historic or scientific importance or natural beauty and the encouragement of access and study of such buildings, artefacts and property; (b) to advance education and encourage appreciation within the area of benefit on all matters relating to history and culture through exhibitions, workshops, lectures and other forms of educational medium; (c) to promote the benefit of the inhabitants without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of fostering a community spirit and improving the conditions of life for the benefit of the inhabitants; (d) to advance promote and further the conservation maintenance and protection of features of the landscape in the area of benefit with geographical, physiographical or amenity value and to enhance their contribution to existing environmental amenities in the area of benefit.
