Charitable purposes

The objects of the company are to advance education, to promote the arts and to promote the benefit of the people of Derry and its environs (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") by means of: (I) The provision of an art gallery facility to exhibit works of artistic merit in the area of benefit in an effort to develop visual arts, and to foster an awareness of and a knowledge of the visual arts for the benefit of the general public; (II) To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation of people in the area of benefit who are in need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, disability, or social or economic circumstances and in particular to: (a) encourage people (especially the young) to become actively involved in community-based arts activities, and provide appropriate training and educational facilities and services. (III) encourage appreciation of the arts and stimulate the artistic creativity of people in the area of benefit by the provision of art exhibitions, performances, installations, training, support and facilities for artistic expression. (IV) present, promote, organise, manage and exhibit shows of artistic, cultural and educational value, including paintings, drawings, performances, sculptures, films, broadcasts, entertainments and exhibitions
