Charitable purposes

OBJECTS The company?s objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of education, the protection and preservation of physical and mental health and well-being, the relief of poverty, hardship, sickness and the aged, the promotion of the Christian faith and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”) of the Magheralin and Dollingstown areas and their environs of Craigavon, Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: (a) to maintain and manage or co-operate with the Representative Church Body and/or any local authority in the maintenance of a centre or centres in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the company ( hereinafter called "the Centre"); (b) to promote or assist in promoting community capacity building programmes and projects for the benefit of the inhabitants within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, disability or infirmity, or social and economic circumstances, in an effort to increase the abilities, skills and self- confidence of such communities in the area of benefit; (c) to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the education, recreation and leisure-time occupation of Senior Citizens who by reason of social or economic circumstances have need of such facilities; (d) to educate and assist the beneficiaries through their leisure-time activities so as to develop their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and so that their conditions of life may be improved; (e) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity.
