Charitable purposes
The Association is a non-profit making organisation who aims are to:- 1.To promote and Support the morale, welfare and physical and mental health of ex-fire fighters and their widows or widowers as they return to civilian life after service whilst thereby helping to increase efficiency within the fire service in general in particular but not exclusively by: a. The provision of regular opportunities for members to meet, socialise and avail of recreational, leisure or educational activities among themselves and with similar organisations from the UK or the island of Ireland with the object of improving their condition of life, reducing isolation and supporting their return to civilian life. 2. To use the knowledge and experience of Ex-Firefighters to assist and support members of the public who have been impacted by fire by any charitable means the trustees deem fit. 3. To advance education among the general public regarding fire safety, the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, methane poisoning and other toxic substances and to assist any other organisation such as the fire service in promoting health and safety surrounding fire safety through public talks, dispersing of leaflets or fliers and in any other charitable manner as may be required.
