Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following:- 1) To advance in life and help young people and adults with a learning disability (“the beneficiaries”) to improve their conditions of life through the provision of educational services and vocational activities that deliver greater choice, opportunity, independence and enrichment to a marginalised section of our local community. 2) To promote the social, cultural, physical and spiritual development of young people with learning disabilities by providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life among the beneficiaries. 3) To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by training persons with a learning disability in the fields of: recycling; horticulture and gardening; catering and hospitality; retailing and related customer service activities; so as to minimise social exclusion and assist with the integration of those persons in the community by preparing them for supported employment opportunities. 4) To develop the capacity and skills of young people and adults with a learning disability, through the delivery of a range of pre-vocational / vocational training courses and enterprise initiatives, in such a way that they are better able to meet their needs and participate more fully in society by placing emphasis on each beneficiary’s abilities rather than any disability they may have.
