Charitable purposes

3.1 The purposes of the Friends of the Roddens is for the relief of the elderly aged and the infirm, the relief of suffering and distress and the promotion of the benefit of those who are residents or respite attenders hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries of the Roddens Care Home Ballymoney in particular but not exclusively hereinafter referred to as the area of benefit who are in need of assistance as a result of their age, infirmity, illness, poverty or social or economic circumstances by associating with the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants of the area of benefit in a common effort to improve the conditions of life for the said beneficiaries and in particular: 3.1.1 to relieve the elderly through the provision or assistance in the provision of amenities for the comfort, recreation, education and other leisure-time occupation of the beneficiaries 3.1.2 to foster an atmosphere of mutual support among the beneficiaries and their families and friends or carers, and to encourage them to provide mutual support and encouragement to each other 3.1.3 to provide funds, equipment and contributions in such manner as the Trustees think fit, to supplement the facilities and equipment of the Roddens Nursing Care Home, Ballymoney maintained by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in order to provide benefits to all residents and attendees 3.1.4 to raise awareness for the benefit of the public about the care and treatment of the aged, elderly and inform residents in the Roddens Nursing Care Home and other homes maintained by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust 3.1.5 to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the Trustees, may from time to time decide in accordance with the law of charity
