Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The Company’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following: (a) To relieve poverty, promote urban regeneration and community development and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of North Belfast and its environs (hereinafter called the area of benefit) by any means which is exclusively charitable under the law of Northern Ireland, and in particular: (i) to promote economic and physical regeneration within the area of benefit, tackle urban decay and dereliction and advance environmental improvement; (ii) to maintain, improve or provide public amenities and provide or assist in the provision of recreational and educational facilities, for the benefit of the public at large, or specifically for those who by reasons of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities; (iii) to relieve the unemployed and other economically inactive and disadvantaged persons within the area of benefit, by the provision of facilities and services which create employment and training opportunities; (iv) to promote the effectiveness and efficiency of local voluntary sector organisations by the provision of accommodation, and other facilities and services. (v) to undertake such other charitable purpose, or purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit that is exclusively charitable under the law of Northern Ireland, as the directors shall from time to time decide.
