Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The Network is established to co-ordinate and support the work of member organisations seeking to relieve older persons and vulnerable adults (hereinafter referred to as the “beneficiaries”) resident in Northern Ireland (hereinafter referred to as the “area of benefit”) who are suffering from loneliness, social isolation and fear of crime by supporting the beneficiaries to remain independent within their homes and communities by the provision of support and services and to encourage beneficiaries to build social networks. To communicate, negotiate and promote their benefit by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to provide services in the interests of social welfare and health and well being and for recreation or other leisure-time occupation and the engagement of the wider inhabitants in volunteer opportunities with the object of improving the quality of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: a) to assist Network organisations in the area of benefit in achieving their mission by providing a coordinated, sustainable approach and assistance in defining, strategising and implementing their mission. b) to provide or encourage the provision of guidance, support, information, training, and quality standards amongst organisations working with the beneficiaries.
