Charitable purposes

Disability Action (NI) Employment & Training works for the rights of disabled people. We are a Northern Ireland wide pan disability organisation working with disabled people with various disabilities; physical, mental, sensory, learning and hidden. The Company’s Objects (charitable purposes) are to promote the following purposes for the public benefit:- (i) promote and provide for the advancement of the education, training and employment opportunities of young persons and adults with disabilities (in the Memorandum “young persons and adults with disabilities” include any persons suffering mental, physical or sensory disability or disadvantage or restriction of activity through lack of part or whole of a limb, organ or mechanism of the body or having a defective limb, organ or mechanism and include any person suffering from a condition which may give rise to such a disability, disadvantage or restriction of activity). (ii) assist such persons registered as disabled who by reason of the nature or severity of their disablement are unlikely either at any time or until after the lapse of a prolonged period to be able otherwise to obtain employment or to undertake work on their own account (whether because employment or such work would not be available to them or because they would be unlikely to be able to compete therein on terms comparable as respects earnings and security with those enjoyed by persons engaged therein who are not subject to disablement) to obtain employment or to undertake such work under special conditions and for training of such persons for the employment or work in question.
