Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The Company is established to promote best practice in Supported Employment for people with disabilities and people from other disadvantaged groups and organisations providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities and people from other disadvantaged groups (hereinafter called the “beneficiaries”) in Northern Ireland (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, disability/ability, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the beneficiaries and in particular; (a) to promote the model of supported employment to the beneficiaries and other relevant organisations (eg Community/voluntary, statutory, private, trade unions etc) in order to relieve unemployment of people with disabilities and people from other disadvantaged groups; (b) to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities and people from other disadvantaged groups in work or in training; (c) to provide information, advice, support, encouragement and training to organisations which, and to those organisations which potentially could, provide supported employment for people with disabilities and people from other disadvantaged groups; (d) to promote the principles of Supported Employment as set out in Appendix 1 attached to the Articles of Association.
