Charitable purposes

The Objects for which the School is established is: 1.To provide for the education, physical training, recreation and extra – curricular activities of pupils and students aged 11-18 attending the School irrespective of social, religious or cultural background who have an academic aptitude, and who will benefit from the high academic standards and specialist teaching by carrying on a co-educational voluntary grammar School and to ensure that pupils develop through their work self-discipline, self-confidence and a respect for knowledge and that they are well prepared for the requirements of tertiary level education and / or employment, and for that purpose to appoint such principals, professors, lecturers, and other teachers, as may be deemed necessary on such conditions as the Governors shall from time to time determine, and for such purpose to provide hostels, halls, gymnasia, sports fields, and playgrounds for the pupils of the School and furnish, equip, and maintain the same and, in furtherance of this Object, the following Objects shall apply: 2. To take on, lease or hire the buildings, lands and premises at 23-33 Castlerock Road Coleraine BT51 3LA, in which the School known as Coleraine Academical Institution has been until now carried on together with all halls, gymnasia, sports fields, playgrounds and sporting pavilions; 3. To take on use of all furniture, fittings and other School equipment and assets vested in the governors and trustees of the said Coleraine Academical Institution, or any of them, for the purposes of the said School and to take such steps or execute such deeds as may be necessary for vesting such assets in the School, or the Governors thereof, or in trustees therefor, and to undertake the whole obligations of the governors of the said Coleraine Academical Institution. 4. To take over, maintain, carry on, continue and develop the work until now carried on by the said Coleraine Academical Institution and to extend and develop the same in the broader area of Coleraine and elsewhere in Northern Ireland insofar as is charitable 5. To take on, lease or on hire, the buildings, lands and premises at Lodge Road, Coleraine, BT52 1LZ in which the body known as Coleraine High School has been until now carried on together with all halls, gymnasia, sports fields, playgrounds and sporting pavilions; 6. To take on use of all furniture, fittings and other School equipment and assets vested in the North Eastern Region of the Education Authority (formerly known as the North Eastern Education and Library Board), or any of them, for the purposes of the said School and to take such steps or execute such deeds as may be necessary for vesting such assets in the School, or the Governors thereof, or in trustees therefore; 7. To take over, maintain, carry on, continue and develop the work until now carried on by the said Coleraine High School, and to extend and develop same in the broader area of Coleraine and elsewhere in Northern Ireland insofar as is charitable.
