Charitable purposes

TanzaniAID’s purposes are specifically restricted to the support by the means of voluntary work and financial assistance to any charitable project for the advancement of education, the prevention or relief of poverty, and the preservation and protection of health primarily in Tanzania, in the UK and ROI and in any other parts of the World as the trustees may from time to time think fit (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) and in particular: 1. To support the education and development in particular, but not exclusively, of young people living in the area of benefit by financing youth projects, by providing educational scholarships and by assisting in the delivery of life skills in co-operation with local schools. 2. To support the building or refurbishment of educational, medical, and recreational facilities in the interest of social welfare and improving the quality of life of those living in poverty within the area of benefit; we provide funds for the building and maintenance of schools in communities in the area of benefit and to fund educational resources, for example school books, laboratory equipment, solar panels and batteries for electricity in the school, for the building or refurbishment of medical and recreational facilities. 3. The provision of funds for first aid care for people living in the area of benefit who cannot afford medical treatment. This may also include theprovision of funds for mosquito nets, or for other preventative measures to minimise or reduce the need for medical treatment. 4 To assist in the advancement of community development programmes for people living in the area of benefit which will enhance their future opportunities and conditions of life. 5. To educate the public of NI, the rest of UK and ROI, and promote their awareness, appreciation, and understanding of science primarily, but also art, history and the culture and way of life of people.
