Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The company’s objects are specifically restricted to the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants (hereinafter called the “beneficiaries”) of the Whitehead Area and its environs of County Antrim (“hereinafter called the “area of benefit”) without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability/ability, race, ethnic origin, political, religious or other opinion by associating the statutory and local authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, promote and foster a community spirit in favour of equality and diversity and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: (i) to establish or secure the establishment of a community centre (hereinafter called "the Community Centre") and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the company in furtherance of the above objects; (ii) to promote the benefit of children and young people in the area of benefit and educate and assist such young people through their leisure-time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and emotional capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society so that their conditions of life may be improved; (iii) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity.
