Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following:- (1) To advance community development in the Newry & Mourne District area and its environs (the “area of benefit”) and in particular the promotion of the community and voluntary sector for the benefit of the public by providing facilities and amenities at the Rural Family Focus Centre, as well as training, support and information, to community and voluntary groups and by encouraging and assisting such groups and organisations to work in partnership and co-operation to achieve their aims. (2) To advance health and well-being and education and training by improving access to services and developing an integrated, affordable, flexible approach to the delivery of services which encourages best practice and adopts a holistic approach to the needs of the family and the community. (3) To provide facilities and amenities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of members of the public having need of such facilities by reasons of their age, sex, youth, disabilities, poverty and social and economic circumstances. (4) To relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; (5) To advance culture and the arts by promoting, organising and publicising cultural and arts activities, events, performances and initiatives (6) To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
