Charitable purposes

The organisation is established to relieve the needs and poverty of the community, and in particular children and young people under the age of 25, (“the beneficiaries”) in Sierra Leone, West Africa particularly those in the Good Shepherd Home, Kenema (“the area of benefit”) through the provision of financial assistance and voluntary work, and in particular: (a) to advance the education and to promote, preserve and protect the health of the beneficiaries in the area of benefit through the provision of facilities and equipment; (b) to relieve poverty and hunger in the field of interest by any charitable means and in particular through the provision of food, clothing, care and grants; (c) to relieve sickness, malnutrition and disease among the beneficiaries through the provision or assistance in the provision of medical facilities and by the provision of advice, information and financial support for the costs of care and the provision of items and services required to ease their suffering; (d) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the Trustees may from time to time decide in accordance with the law of charity in Northern Ireland.
