Charitable purposes
(4) The Company's objects are specifically restricted to the prevention or relief of poverty and the advancement of citizenship and community development for people who are at most risk of health inequalities and organisations who support them, in Northern Ireland and in any other part of the world as directors may think fit (herein after called “the area of benefit”) and in particular: A. By the provision of education and training to promote the understanding of health inequalities and poverty and their impact on people’s health B. By the provision of research on health inequalities, poverty and community development to educate and inform individuals, organisations, policy makers decision makers and funders C. By the development and sharing of an evidence base to demonstrate the impact of community development on health and wellbeing For the purposes of this article 'health inequalities” is defined as the differences in health status or in the distribution of health determinants between different population groups; community development is defined as a process where community members come together to take collective action and generate solutions to common problems.
