Charitable purposes

The Company is established for the public benefit for the following purposes in the area comprising of Bangor and North County Down and the surrounding environment which area shall herein after be referred to as “the area of benefit”.The objects of the Company are restricted to: (i) The advancement of citizenship and community development. (ii) To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the area of benefit. (iii) In particular to encourage the development of Queens Parade, the Bangor Seafront and the town centre of Bangor in such a way as to enhance and compliment the character of Bangor as a seaside resort with its own distinctive character. (iv) To educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of the area of benefit. (v) To secure the preservation protection development and improvement of features of historic or pubic interest in the area of benefit. (vi) To advance the arts, culture and heritage in the area of benefit. (vii) To advance environmental protection and improvement in the area of benefit. (viii) To advance education on architecture and the environment and history in the area of benefit. (ix) To encourage appreciation and protection of the Victorian and Edwardian buildings and character in the Bangor area of benefit.
