Charitable purposes

The Association's Objectives are specifically: 1. The advancement of community development for the public benefit within the Downpatrick District Electoral Area (DEA), in particular the promotion of the community and voluntary sector for the benefit of the public by: (i) Supporting and developing initiatives and projects that strengthen the community and voluntary sector in charitable activity and seek to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit including the promotion and development of Social Enterprise schemes; (ii) Organising or assist in organising activities & events to promote health and well-being for residents in the area of benefit; (iii) Providing support services, information, education and training (iiii) To provide and maintain a Forum where members can join together to find mutual support, exchange views, share common issues and information, create a collective voice. 2. To promote good community relations, religious and racial harmony, equality and diversity through engagement with local communities and working in partnership with recognised private and statutory bodies.
