Charitable purposes

The aim of the society shall be the education of the public in all aspects of the history of Cullybackey and the immediate surrounding area. In furtherance of this aim, but not otherwise, the Society shall have the following powers: To encourage the conservation and preservation of local buildings, records, antiquities and objects of historical interest. To encourage research on the history of Cullybackey To foster an interest in the history and heritage of Cullybackey. To arrange and promote public lectures, meetings and other events in order to inform and stimulate interest and participation. To establish and ensure a source of information and archive which accommodates the upkeep of records ,artefacts and documentation. To record, preserve and interpret historical information based on personal experience. To assimilate the documentation of recent material for posterity and to inform the future To form sub or interest groups on specific topics of particular interest such as e.g. music. To accept gifts and grants of money and property appropriate to the work of the Society To expend money on equipment, sources, resources and services appropriate to the work of the Society
