LCDR was set up with the purpose of advancement of animal welfare; both locally in Northern Ireland and internationally for the betterment of the general public, by: The promotion of capacity of the general public, by caring for injured and abandoned animals. Increasing the general publics knowledge and awareness surrounding animal welfare, though informative educational sessions. Improving sense of well being of individual members of the public; through responsible adoption of LCDR animals. Reduction in the number of unwanted animals through responsible rehoming to individual members of the public and education of the general public. Fulfilling the emotional wellbeing of members of the public through therapeutic interaction of rehabilitated rescue dogs with varying permanent disabilities.
