Charitable purposes

The Objects of the Academy are to advance the amateur sport of Association Football amongst children and young people within the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council area and its environs of Northern Ireland (the ‘area of benefit”) by the provision, or assistance in the provision, of facilities for the playing of Association football (facilities here means land, buildings, equipment and the organisation of sporting activities, coaching, training and competitive Sport) , and for the following additional purposes: a) to advance the health and wellbeing of children and young people by providing activities which promote their involvement in healthy physical recreation, and by educating them about the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle; b) to educate and help children and young people through their leisure time activities so as to develop their capacities, so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and as members of society; c) to provide, or assist in the provision, of facilities in the interest of social welfare for education, recreation and other leisure time occupation for the benefit of persons within the area of benefit in need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, poverty, social or economic circumstances or other disadvantage, so that their conditions of life may be improved; and d) to further such other exclusively charitable purpose or purposes as may from time to time be determined.
