Charitable purposes

The charity’s objects (‘Objects’) are specifically restricted to the promotion of the following purposes for the benefit of the public in Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the “area of benefit”): 4.1 the advancement of health or the saving of lives through: 4.1.1 the promotion, preservation and protection of good mental health; 4.1.2 the empowerment for people bereaved by suicide through the provision of mutual support and encouragement to each other; and 4.1.3 the provision of assistance to people in despair or distress in order to reduce the incidence of suicide. 4.2 The advancement of education through: 4.2.1 the raising of awareness of mental health issues, suicide and the factors which may lead to it among the general public in the area of benefit. Nothing in the articles authorises an application of the property of the charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and/or section 2 of the Charities Act 2011 and or section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
