Charitable purposes

The purposes of the charity are: Advancement of Citizenship or Community Development Objects: 2.1 The Association is established for the Advancement of Citizenship or Community Development and for the public benefit of the inhabitants of Ballykeel 2 District and its environs. (Hereinafter referred to as ‘The area of benefit') This will be achieved through the delivery of positive community events, provision of volunteering opportunities and through regular contact meetings with relevant statutory and voluntary bodies to improve the conditions of life for local people. 2.2 In the furtherance of the above objects but not further or otherwise the Association may: 2.3 Provide or secure the provision of educational, environmental and recreational facilities for inhabitants in the area of benefit; 2.4 Provide and look after any property, facilities, or equipment as may be needed by the organisation; 2.5 Organise or assist others in organising classes, training courses, meetings, exhibitions, outings and other events and activities consistent with the objects of the association; 2.6 Promote and carry out, or assist in promoting and carrying out research, surveys and investigations and publish the useful results thereof; 2.7 Recruit and train volunteers to help in carrying out the work of the association and carry out such vetting procedures as may be deemed necessary in the interests of child protection; 2.8 Employ such paid staff not being members of the committee are necessary to achieve the objects of the association and to pay them the appropriate fee on such normal and reasonable terms and conditions as the association may decide; 2.9 Raise funds and invite contributions from any person or persons by way of donations or otherwise provided that the association shall not undertake any permanent trading activities; 2.10 Purchase, take on the lease or in exchange hire, or otherwise acquire any real personal property and any rights and privileges necessary for the promotion of the above objects and construct, maintain and alter any buildings or erections which the association may think necessary for the promotion of its objects; 2.11 Make any regulations for any property which may be so acquired; 2.12 Subject to any consents as may be required by law, sell, let, mortgage, dispose or turn to account all or any of the property, assets of the association with repayment of money so borrowed; 2.13 Invest the monies of the association not immediately required for the furtherance of the said objects in or upon such investments, securities, or property as may be thought fit, subject nevertheless to such conditions (if any) as may be necessary to the attainment of the said objects.
