Charitable purposes

The charity's objects are specifically restricted to the following: To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Burren area, Newry and surrounding district (hereinafter described as "the area of benefit") without distinction of sex, sexual orientation race or of political religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, including foreign language classes, to provide for the elderly a friendship club and luncheon club, to preserve the environment and heritage of the area of benefit and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation including Irish dancing classes, dancing classes, farmers meetings, children's creche and playgroup, dramatic society and Burren bowling club, lecture and conference facilities, meeting rooms and all other initiatives that the community may request permission for it use the hall, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
