Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
To advance amateur sport and encourage participation in sport among members of the African and Caribbean communities, in particular but not exclusively, (‘the beneficiaries’) in Northern Ireland and also in Africa and the Caribbean by the provision of, or assistance in the provision of, sports clubs, equipment, facilities, forums, competitions, tournaments, skills development and by any other charitable means that the Trustees shall consider appropriate; To promote cultural diversity and racial harmony by promoting sporting and cultural activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and the indigenous people in Northern Ireland and to cultivate a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity in sport; To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of facilities, courses, training, programmes, and resources to enable, assist and encourage the education of persons in leadership, coaching and organisation of sport and related subjects; To prevent and relieve poverty of the beneficiaries by promoting and providing opportunities for those who wish to play sport professionally or to find employment in sport or sports related industries.
