2.1 The Objects of the Charity are for the public benefit and are specifically restricted to: (a) the advancement of culture and heritage, and in particular but not exclusively culture and heritage relating to The Collection and Archive of the Royal Irish Regiment, The Inniskillings Museum, The Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum, The Royal Irish Regiment Museum (Ballymena), The Royal Ulster Rifles Museum, and the North Irish Horse Collection or which otherwise relates to Irish service in the British Army and of the Irish regiments of the British Army and those who served in them in order to preserve their traditions and military heritage, and honour and communicate their history; (b) the advancement of education, and in particular but not exclusively education relating to the history, culture and heritage relating to The Collection and Archive of the Royal Irish Regiment, The Inniskillings Museum, The Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum, The Royal Irish Regiment Museum (Ballymena), The Royal Ulster Rifles Museum, and the North Irish Horse Collection or which otherwise relates to Irish service in the British Army and of the Irish regiments of the British Army and those who served in them in order to foster learning and understanding among the community and promote military scholarship, in each case through holding and conserving collections, artefacts, archives, property and heritage materials and making them available for the benefit and enjoyment of the community and by such other means as the Trustees see fit.
