Aidhmeanna/purposes Is í príomhaidhm Ghaelphobail ná fás a chur le Pobal na Gaeilge sa cheantar agus muid ag: The main aim of Gaelphobal is to grow the Irish language speaking community in the area by: (i) ag cur ranganna Gaeilge ar fáil do dhaoine fásta a fhreastalaíonn ar gach leibhéal inniúlachta.-providing Irish classes for adults catering for all levels of proficiency. (ii) ag tacú le forbairt an tomoideachais lán-Ghaeilge sa cheantar-supporting the development of Irish medium immersion education in the area. (iii) ag bronnadh scoláireachtaí ar dhaoine óga chun freastal ar chúrsaí sa Ghaeltacht-awarding scholarships to young people to go to attend courses in the Gaeltacht. (iv) ag eagrú imeachtaí sóisialta agus cultúrtha chun deiseanna a chur ar fáil do phobal na Gaeilge teacht le chéile ar bhonn rialta -organising social and cultural events to provide opportunities for the Irish speaking community to come together on a regular basis. (v) ag forbairt nasc agus ag eagrú imeachtaí i gcomhpháirtíocht le pobail na Gaeilge eile ar fud na tíre-developing links and organising events in partnership with other Irish speaking communities throughout the country. (vi) ag cinntiú go nglacann pobal na Gaeilge páirt i saol cultúrtha agus cathartha an cheantair agus go bhfuil sí mar chuid lárnach de - ensuring that the Irish language community takes part in and is an integral part of the cultural and civic life of the area (vii) comharthaíocht dhátheangach agus infheictheacht phoiblí na Gaeilge a chur chun cinn - promoting bi-lingual signage and the public visibility of the Irish language (viii) ag tacú le feachtais chun cearta teanga a chinntiú agus soláthar reachtúil feabhsaithe do chainteoirí Gaeilge-Supporting campaigns to secure language rights and improved statutory provision for Irish Speakers.
