Charitable purposes
2. Objectives (Charitable Purposes) Connect to Protect (CTP) is established to promote and protect the physical and mental health and wellbeing of military veterans, serving personnel, and their families in Northern Ireland and throughout the island of Ireland by all or any of the following charitable means: 2.1 Education and Awareness - To advance education by increasing awareness and understanding within the NHS, PSNI, social care and other relevant organisations about the unique mental health and wellbeing issues faced by veterans and their families, and by equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively. 2.2 Peer Support as a Means of Advancing Health - To establish and facilitate peer support groups as a means of advancing the mental health and wellbeing of veterans and their families, providing safe, supportive environments to share experiences, offer mutual support, and build community connections. 2.3 Counselling and Wellbeing Services - To provide or facilitate access to tailored, case-managed counselling, wellbeing, and recovery services for veterans and their families to improve mental health and resilience. 2.4 Public and Professional Education - To advance public understanding and reduce stigma associated with veterans’ mental health and addiction issues through education, training, and awareness campaigns. 2.5 Advocacy and Research - To advance health by advocating for improved mental health support for veterans, and by undertaking or commissioning research to inform evidence-based policy and practice.
