Charitable purposes

The charity is established to reduce social isolation among and improve the health of men in the Killyleagh and surrounding areas by the following means (together, the ‘Objects’): (1) to provide a safe and welcoming environment and venue for men of all walks of life to talk and connect with others while participating in individual or group projects, tasks, activities, sports, learning and socialising; (2) to provide opportunities for friendship and socialising in a safe and welcoming environment in the context of providing the space, opportunities, facilities and expertise for men to pursue hobbies, crafts and creativity; (3) to provide an opportunity for members to undertake projects, acceptable to the members as a whole, which are to the benefit of individuals and or groups in the local and broader community; (4) to provide an environment where men, both skilled and unskilled in any endeavour can, in the company of others, pursue hobbies, past-times and interests and learn new skills; (5) to work together in partnership with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations to influence and contribute to the development of services in order to improve and enhance the experiences, opportunities, well-being, and physical and mental health of men of all walks of life; (6) to use any grant from statutory, trust and foundations and private business organisations to an effective way, which encourages and strengthens the participation of members in the charity; and (7) to work in partnership with all other groups, individuals and organisations that support and advance the purposes.
