Purposes and classifications
Charitable purposes
To support adult individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health issues; To create a social hub for adults 18+ with additional needs, where they will be able to socialize, make new friends, play games and take part in other fun activities; To support Parents, Guardians and Carers through respite for the hours that the adults with learning disabilities attend Harry’s Mates on group nights or other outings/events which take place; To promote inclusion, wellbeing, and equality opportunities for the beneficiaries; To operate out of a regular location that is accessible to all Mates by promoting a disability friendly environment. To educates Harry’s Mates with a view to offering members life skills, community awareness workshops with the local emergency services, while also engaging in therapies such as, art and design, dance and movement classes, baking/cooking workshops, health and hygiene courses and encouraging Harry’s Mates to develop independence with regards to their money management skills; To advance the health of Harry’s Mates by promoting personal hygiene, healthy eating and weight management classes. Basic first aid and survival skills are also shared and refreshed annually; To provide a cross community social group. To raise awareness and educate the wider community about learning disabilities, autism, and issues caused by poor mental health;
