02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Larbert and Stenhousemuir Age Concerns primary role is to benefit the senior members of our locality in many aspects of life including social inclusion, Mental Health, Cognitive improving activities, flexibility, balance and improving general fitness and wellbeing. These objectives are satisfied by our regular Monday morning lunch club where members have hot food and enjoy a sociable morning chatting in a warm space and is very well attended and appreciated, our main social event is a Thursday tea dance where the main body of the members enjoy tea and refreshments with live entertainment where they exercise through dance that improves their fitness, mobility and social interactions with each other. Alongside these mainstays of the Age Concern, we have had many initiatives like trips away, pantos, bingo and interactions with the extended community including primary schools and the Local High school that have been extremely beneficial to our senior members and the young people

Constitutional objectives

The object of the group is to promote the welfare of senior citizens in a manner, which is now or hereafter may be deem by law to be charitable by (I) Bringing together representatives of statutory and voluntary organisations and individuals. (II) Making representations on behalf of senior citizens as deemed appropriate by the committee. (III) Making available information to, for and on behalf of senior citizens. (IV) Promoting and running appropriate services.
