02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Kintyre Agricultural Society is set up to promote the advancement of agriculture and organises agricultural related events throughout the year (Ploughing Match, Agricultural Show, Sheep sale, Harvest Supper, Tractor run) The Society also provides marquees to local organisations for events throughout the year and makes donations to local charities and groups. The organised events allow competition between competitors to show their skills and their stock. At each event The Society has various classes for young people to encourage them and advance their roll in agriculture therefore helping to bring forward the farmers of tomorrow. The events are open to the public and this aloows those not involved in agriculture to gain a better knowledge of the industry.
