02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

In the event that a body has not been recovered by the Police & Fire services after the services has concluded their search the Humane society check the mainland and island shoreswhere the victim was drowned in the weeks and months after the Services have given upin the searchin the hope that the body will appearon the surface and can be reunited with their loved ones.

Constitutional objectives

The object of the Society, which shall be undertaken in the discretion of the Committee, shall be: 1. to search for and restore to relations any person that may be drowned either in loch or river. 2. to keep lifebuoys, poles or any gear suitable for protecting life at any likely places where accidents might occur.
