02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Kelvin West Church works for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom throughout our parish in the West End of Glasgow. Weekly church services open to all whatever their ethnic origin, gender, background, age, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability are augmented with groups for bible study, crafts, and well-being meeting regularly throughout the year. The Church’s International Welcome Club, run by volunteers, provides a safe meeting place and organises events for visitors and asylum seekers from around the globe. From the basement of the church, the Crypt Café offers inexpensive lunches to students from the adjacent University of Glasgow and the local community. The Church congregation regularly raise funds for charitable causes both local and national. In 2025 the congregation raised £8,509.00 for other charities.
