What the charity exists to do

The governing document from 1917 states that the Trust be set up for it to bring into being, and thereafter ensure continued use, a Public hall for the benefit of the inhabitants of Balfron. The Trust received charitable status in 1994. To achieve the aim of the charity, finance is required to run the premises. The Trust does this by using income generated from lets to the public of this community facility within the hall and from rental income from 4 small commercial units which are part of the hall building. The Trustees further ensure value for money by careful expenditure and undertaking financial, secretarial and some maintenance activities on a voluntary basis and occasionally undertaking some caretaking duties. The Trust also achieves its aims by ensuring the premises continues to be a facility of benefit to the community by organising maintenance and upgrade works and ensuring premises are accessible, safe and pleasant to use.
