02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Playtime Early Years (an SCIO) based in Dalry has been running for over 50 years and has evolved over that time. We are a voluntary organisation, run by a parent committee with paid qualified staff and work in partnership with North Ayrshire Council delivering 1140 funded hours of early learning and childcare, 6 hours a day, Monday to Friday term-time including provision of a hot lunch. We continue to provide a quality service of Early Learning and Childcare to 24 children between the ages of 3-5. We continue to support our children and families thus employability enhancing provision, learning and progression and improving outcomes for all children. To do this we work together involving parents and families. We look at emotional well-being and how we can best support all our staff and families.
