02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We trust the power of play to change the lives of children and families facing adversity or poverty. At Play Works, we believe every child deserves the chance to play, grow and belong. We're working towards a Scotland where play is valued in every home, school, and community - because play works, and it changes lives.

Constitutional objectives
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of West Lothian and environs and in particular parents and children by associating with the residents, voluntary organisations and local authorities in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. To secure the establishment of family centre premises for education, training, childcare and community business development, including The Range Adventure Playground to develop activities as described above.
